Vote No on Measure 106
Our families are multi-generational, speak many languages, and include immigrants, LGBTQ folks, people of color, and more. And our families face similar struggles — whether we’re making ends meet, finding affordable housing, or trying to access healthcare.
Measure 106 takes away insurance coverage for abortion care from low-income Oregonians. M106 takes healthcare away from more than 270,000 Oregonians on the Oregon Health Plan, our state’s Medicaid program. That’s just wrong. Each of us must be able to decide whether and when to become a parent, regardless of how much money we make or how we’re insured. Personal decisions about abortion should remain with Oregonians, our families and medical providers, without government interference.
Our families make tough decisions every day — especially about healthcare. We trust Oregonians to make the right decision for themselves, whether that’s to become a parent or end a pregnancy.
Once an Oregonian has made the decision to end a pregnancy, it should be covered by health insurance, just like any other medical procedure. M106 sets a dangerous precedent by picking and choosing what medical procedures insurance will and won’t cover.
