Claiming “inclusivity” without being anti-racist doesn’t prevent feelings of exclusion.
My therapist often reminds me during our sessions about my commitment to care and joy in my life. “What are you doing that brings you joy?” I usually think to myself, “not a damn thing”.
I am wondering about the kind of care we need in this moment so that we can be in our bodies and show ourselves compassion.
Because joy and care are our birthrights.
“I’ve been having a lot of dreams of what it actually looks like for mamahood and motherhood in this time period.”

Although the day after Thanksgiving is often reduced to “capitalist consumption for the un-woke masses,” it has become a favorite family tradition of time spent with two women I love.
